Fulbright Canada is an integral part of the worldwide Fulbright program. The Fulbright program, which operates in more than 150 countries, is managed by 50 binational Fulbright commissions. In Canada, the Fulbright Program is managed by the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America. In non-commission countries, the program is managed by the relevant US Embassy. Administrative support for the Fulbright program is provided by the IIE and the CIES, U.S.-based cooperating agencies.
The United States Department of State operates two associations which offer global networking opportunities for Fulbright Canada alumni: State Alumni and Exchanges Connect.
In addition, Fulbright alumni associations exist in 71 countries around the world. In the United States, the Fulbright Association has some 9,000 members. The Fulbright Academy of Science & Technology (FAST) focuses on professional advancement and collaboration needs among the 100,000 Fulbright alumni in science, technology and related fields. Both of these alumni-focused organizations are independent of the Fulbright Program, and are not associated with the United States Department of State.
