There has been an extension to the deadline for the submission of applications for a limited number of award opportunities available to American scholars. Additional information on the deadline extensions is available at the following CIES webpages, organized by theme:

For all other awards available to American scholars, the deadline of August 1st has passed, the 2012-13 competition will open in May of 2011. The opportunities for Canadian scholars remains unchanged, and applications are due on November 15, 2010. Similarly, the deadline for Canadian students remains November 15, 2010 and for American students, the deadline to submit your applications to the IIE is October 18, 2010.
