Each spring, the Fulbright Canada - Maple Leaf Student Exchange brings together high school students from across Canada and the Boston area for a week of academic, cultural, and community engagement. Sponsored by the Maple Leaf Foundation and administered by Fulbright Canada, this long-standing youth exchange program has, for nearly three decades, empowered hundreds of students to step outside their home communities and build meaningful cross-border connections.
In May 2025, students participated in immersive academic and cultural experiences. From museum and university visits to walking tours, classroom sessions, and baseball games, the exchange offered a dynamic blend of learning and discovery.
- May 4–10, 2025: Ten Canadian students and two chaperones explored Boston’s rich history and vibrant academic landscape, including visits to Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Canadian Consulate, and Fenway Park for a Red Sox game.
- May 18–24, 2025: Ten American students and two chaperones experienced Ottawa’s national landmarks and museums, visited leading institutions such as Carleton University and the University of Ottawa, toured the U.S. Embassy, and attended a Titans baseball game.
The Fulbright Canada - Maple Leaf Student Exchange has provided a transformative experience for so many hard-working and deserving students.
