I love Canada because when looking out on the beautiful yellow canola fields and the expansive blue skies in Saskatchewan, I can’t help but feel hopeful, optimistic, and completely at home. And no, you can’t see your dog run for days. Seriously. I love Canada because nobody can make poutine like a canuck. I love Canada because it gave me—a 5’1”, 112-pound woman—the opportunity to say for the rest of my life, “I used to play hockey. In fact, I was the goalie for Fulbright Canada.” I love Canada because it almost magically, invariably produces the nicest people on Earth. I love Canada because we embrace and find strength in our culturally diverse population.
