Ms. Nathalie Dubé

Ms. Dubé has been Director General for Investment, Innovation and Education at Global Affairs Canada since September 2022.

Prior to returning to Ottawa, Ms. Dubé was Minister-Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner in London, Alternate Director for Canada, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia at the European Bank for reconstruction and Development as well as Canada’s Representative to the International Grains Council from 2018 to 2022.

This assignment followed Ms. Dubé appointment as Canada’s Ambassador to Morocco and Mauritania in 2015, a position she occupied until 2018.

Ms. Nathalie Dubé joined External Affairs and International Trade Canada in 1994. She has worked internationally in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as a Trade Commissioner and in Rome, Italy, as Head of the Embassy’s Political and Public Affairs section.

At Departmental Headquarters, Ms. Dubé has held various positions, including in the Office of the Deputy Minister of International Trade, the South Asia Commercial Division, the Tariffs and Market Access Division, the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) Marketing Division and the TCS Operations Division.

She has also been Principal Media Spokesperson for all trade-related matters for the department and Deputy Director of the Media Relations Division. At the Canadian International Development Agency, she served as director of communications services, after which, in 2009, she was appointed Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner for trade, investment and innovation at the Embassy of Canada to France.

In August 2014, she returned to Ottawa as Director of the Investor Outreach Division.

Ms. Dubé speaks English, French and Italian.
