Wisdom through Knowledge

A private dinner, hosted by the Fulbright Canada Board of Directors, will mark a celebration of 30+ years of the Fulbright Program in Canada. This event will honour leaders and recognize valued partners, who are coming together to build capacity and enhance mutual understanding across Canada and the United States. Fulbright Canada is pleased to be recognizing significant growth and key partnerships with incredible institutions in western Canada, including, but not limited to, Thompson Rivers University, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Vancouver Island University, and Yukon University.   

Our Master of Ceremonies for the evening is Honouring Nations Canada Co-Director Candace Wasacase-Lafferty. Featured speakers include Louise B. Halfe - Sky Dancer, Parliament’s Poet Laureate, D. Brent Hardt, U.S. Consul General in Vancouver, Dr. Santa Ono, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia, our newly appointed Ambassador for Diversity and Social Connectedness, Ms. Kim Samuel.

This event takes place on the occasion of the Spring 2022 Fulbright Canada Board of Directors Meeting. We are also pleased to welcome our Alumni Advisory Committee and our Honouring Nations Canada Circle of Advisors.

The Fulbright Canada Board of Directors Meeting

May 5-6, 2022

The Fulbright Canada Board of Directors, the governing body of the organization, includes the two Ambassadors, six university presidents, and ten private sector members. The board meets in person twice a year in different cities in Canada and the United States. along with committee meetings throughout the year.

The Fulbright Canada Alumni Advisory Committee Meeting

The Fulbright Canada Alumni Advisory Committee is a volunteer advisory body that provides insight and support to Fulbright Canada’s leadership. They provide alumni perspectives on recruitment, programming, fundraising, and impact. The committee is comprised of twelve Canadian and American alumni representing three key programs: Fulbright Scholars, Fulbright Students, and Killam Fellows.

Honouring Nations Canada Circle of Advisors Meeting

Honouring Nations Canada is a Fulbright Canada program designed to underwrite exchange opportunities, provide national awards, support research, and promote knowledge to identify, celebrate, document, and disseminate best practices in Indigenous governance in Canada.

 
We acknowledge that we will be gathering on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil- Waututh Nations.
