Apply Now for the Killam Fellowships Program

The Killam Fellowship experience is nothing short of transformational. It provides students with the opportunity to set foot in a new world and to cultivate knowledge in an academic field through the lens of our nearest neighbor. Whether immersing yourself in American history or exploring the translation of health technology from lab to clinic, Killam fellows are encouraged to consider their studies with a cross-cultural perspective. The combination of a fascinating academic experience, new city, and a strong Killam community produces a memorable undergraduate year.

The Killam Fellowships Program provides a unique opportunity for American and Canadian undergraduate students from universities in Canada and the United States to undertake an academic exchange in the other country. This is a program open to students in all disciplines, and is normally taken in an undergraduate student’s third year. You could be an American political science student looking to learn more about Canada’s politics by studying in Canada’s national capital, or you could be a Canadian computer engineering student keen to explore a new academic environment in Florida’s high-tech corridor. Whatever your major, academic exchanges provide an extraordinary opportunity to add value to your education, enhance your understand of another country, meet new friends and colleagues, and broaden your horizons.

Students may participate in the program either as a direct exchange student (registering at their home university, paying their home fees, and attending a host university that is a Fulbright Canada partner) or as a self-placed visiting student (applying for and registering at a host university, and paying host tuition fees).
