Students as Stakeholders in Science Diplomacy

This past spring, Fulbright Canada was pleased to be one of the sponsors for a panel discussion between leaders in science diplomacy. The purpose of the day-long event was to identify strategies that can further engage students and early career scientists as important stakeholders is scientific discovery and science diplomacy.

The host, Science and Policy Exchange, is a not for profit organization run by students and early career professionals dedicated to enhancing dialogue between scientists and policy-makers and bridging gaps between academia, industry, and government. The goal, in short, is to support informed policy-making. SPE Vice President explained, “We believe that input and participation from early career scientists in science diplomacy endeavors can help improve outcomes and ensure that the future of research reflects the vision of both current and future generations.” The Conference Summary Report can be found below:
