From Data to Diagnosis: Ayushi Sinha’s Vision for Smarter, Safer Healthcare AI

The promise of AI in healthcare is immense, but its progress hinges on something far more fundamental than algorithms: access to complete, clean, and compliant medical data. That’s the challenge Ayushi Sinha, Founder and CEO of Turmerik and a 2025 Fulbright Canada Entrepreneurship Initiative grantee, is tackling head-on.

At its core, Turmerik is a global healthcare data marketplace designed to bridge the gap between hospitals generating complex clinical data and the AI innovators who need it. In an era where machine learning has the potential to diagnose, predict, and personalize treatment with unprecedented precision, Sinha’s venture provides the critical infrastructure for these breakthroughs to happen ethically, securely, and at scale.

We fuel the future of healthcare AI,” says Sinha, “by helping hospitals transform raw clinical data into structured, usable insights, and by helping AI developers find the right data, fast.

Turmerik partners with hospitals, radiology centers, and fertility clinics across five countries, enabling them to digitize and ethically monetize data while meeting extensive regulatory requirements. But Turmerik is more than a conduit; by embedding its own AI models into the vetting process, the platform ensures the quality and integrity of every dataset that enters the marketplace, filtering for completeness, spotting gaps, and identifying fraud at scale. “We’re not just middlemen,” Sinha explains. “We’re setting the global standard for healthcare data quality.

On the demand side, Turmerik supports AI and biotech companies, pharmaceutical firms, and researchers in building and testing models across a wide range of applications, including oncology, fertility, population health, and radiology. With the addition of synthetic data generation and analytics tooling, Turmerik’s platform provides access to data and the ability to derive insight from it, making the data actionable for clinical trials, regulatory filings, and real-world validation.

Turmerik’s approach is rooted in Sinha’s interdisciplinary expertise. With a computer science degree from Princeton University, an MBA from Harvard University, and hands-on experience at Bain Capital Ventures, Microsoft, and FDA-cleared AI startup Nines, Sinha brings deep technical and business strategy fluency. Turmerik’s early traction and partnerships with hospitals around the globe reflect her ability to build trust in an industry where credibility is hard-won.

That trust is particularly crucial when it comes to data acquisition. “Compliance and data quality are the only things that matter,” Sinha emphasizes. Turmerik has developed tools to ensure not only the validity of retrospective data but also the precision of prospective collection, including the chain of custody of blood samples and temperature controls during transport. This attention to detail reflects the complexity of working in regulated health environments and the care required to get it right.

Turmerik’s vision doesn’t stop at aggregation. The company is building toward a future where data is not just plentiful but usable—structured, annotated, and ready to power the next generation of AI tools to help physicians deliver faster, more accurate, and more equitable care.

This momentum is further supported by Sinha’s participation in the Fulbright Canada Entrepreneurship Initiative, delivered in partnership with Alacrity Canada. Through this initiative, emerging founders like Sinha gain access to mentorship, strategic connections, and a platform for cross-border collaboration. Alacrity’s expertise in demand-driven innovation and startup scaling complements Fulbright’s legacy of academic excellence, empowering ventures like Turmerik to expand their impact and sharpen their business models.

In a world where the future of healthcare increasingly depends on the quality of data and the tools used to harness it, Turmerik is laying the foundation. With Sinha at the helm, Turmerik is not just structuring data; it’s helping to structure the future of care itself.
