Fulbright Canada Announces New Alumni Advisory Committee Members

Fulbright Canada is proud to announce the appointment of a new cohort of Alumni Advisory Committee members, bringing together an exceptional group of accomplished alumni from across Canada and the United States.

The Alumni Advisory Committee plays an important advisory role within Fulbright Canada, offering insight, critical thinking, and innovative perspectives to help expand the Foundation’s reach and strengthen the impact of its programs. Drawing on their varied professional paths and Fulbright experiences, committee members contribute thought leadership that supports alumni engagement, outreach, and strategic priorities.

The newly appointed members represent a wide range of disciplines, career stages, and regions, reflecting the breadth of the Fulbright community. These alumni bring perspectives shaped by academia, public service, research, policy, and industry. 

New Alumni Advisory Committee members include:

  • Ms. Katelyn Bauer, Canadian Killam Fellow (2014–15), Victoria, BC,
  • Dr. Jack Corbett, American Fulbright Scholar (2004–05, 2015–16), Portland, OR,
  • Dr. James Crispo, Canadian Fulbright Student (2014–15), Sudbury, ON,
  • Dr. Maria Veronica Elias, American Fulbright Scholar (2022–23), San Antonio, TX,
  • Dr. Rebecca Goldfarb, Canadian Fulbright Student (1995–96), Toronto, ON,
  • Dr. Virginia Haufler, American Fulbright Scholar (2022–23), College Park, MD,
  • Mr. Lewis Krashinsky, Canadian Fulbright Student (2019–20), Toronto, ON,
  • Ms. Julia Nguyen, Canadian Fulbright Student (2022–23), Ottawa, ON,
  • Ms. Tessa Parker, Canadian Killam Fellow (2024–25), Edmonton, AB, and
  • Mr. Omar Sheikh, American Fulbright Student (2019–20), Portland, OR.

Their participation underscores an ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful exchange between Canada and the United States. The new committee members will work alongside continuing members of the Alumni Advisory Committee, including:

  • Mr. Scott Delaney, Founding Partner of Luminex,
  • Dr. Lloyd “Chip” Taylor, Pediatric Psychologist and Professor at The Citadel,
  • Mr. Robin McLay, Special Advisor to the President and CEO of Fulbright Canada,
  • Dr. Michael Hawes, President and CEO of Fulbright Canada, and 
  • Ms. Stacey Vincent, Public Affairs Officer for Fulbright Canada.

Together, the committee brings deep institutional knowledge, professional expertise, and a shared commitment to advancing Fulbright Canada’s mission.

The committee met virtually for its first meeting at the end of January, and will be followed by monthly check-ins and an in-person gathering in the spring. These sessions will focus on setting shared goals, strengthening collaboration, and identifying ways alumni can engage and continue to contribute to Fulbright Canada’s evolving work.

Fulbright Canada looks forward to working closely with the Alumni Advisory Committee members and bringing life to the ideas, insights, and initiatives they will bring to the Foundation in the years ahead.
