Description

The Fulbright Canada Student Entrepreneurship Award is an opportunity for U.S. students who are eager to pursue graduate study in Canada while also exploring or advancing entrepreneurial initiatives. Offered as part of the Fulbright Canada Entrepreneurship Initiative (FCEI), this award provides not only funding for the first year of graduate-level study, but also structured entrepreneurial support to help students transform bold ideas into real-world impact, fostering positive social and economic change.

This unique award supports graduate students who are building ventures, launching social enterprises, developing research commercialization plans, or simply exploring entrepreneurial pathways alongside their academic pursuits.

Benefits

Awardees will benefit from both the academic support of the Fulbright Canada Graduate Student Award and the entrepreneurial resources of the FCEI:

  • Entrepreneurial Support: Receive ongoing entrepreneurial guidance from StartupScience.IO, a guided platform that offers tailored entrepreneurial frameworks, strategy tools, and business-building resources.
  • Accelerator Access: Gain entry to Alacrity Canada’s accelerator program offering mentorship, early-stage venture support, and growth resources.
  • Mentor and Investor Networks: Exposure to leading entrepreneurs, investors, and venture capitalists who can advise, endorse, and support the development of your entrepreneurial work.
  • Applied Impact: Explore the practical applications of academic knowledge, whether through early-stage venture planning, prototyping, or systems innovation.
Eligibility

Applicants must be U.S. graduate students who are planning to enroll in a graduate program in Canada, enrolled in a graduate program in the United States and planning to undertake field research in Canada, or early career independent researchers who have innovative ideas with potential for significant social impact.

Applicants must also meet the Fulbright Canada Student Award eligibility criteria.
